Hayes: Party hatred divides country

Posted

Sadly, the rhetoric coming from you in the letter (“Newspaper should report important items,” Sun City Independent, Jan. 20, 2021) in our local paper, I could hear you yelling.

Not only do you blame all GOP for lying, but you went back as far as President Ronald Reagan.

You blame every Republican for all our troubles when we have to hold the public accountable to keep themselves safe through this pandemic. We have been advised how to do that. Politicians tell people what they want to hear as have the incoming administration. Now we have a 78-year-old man starting his administration.

Sadly, your type of attitude is not about patriotism and cohesiveness for all people. With the hate that has prevailed in the last four years to bring the GOP down has been done with a personal hate for President Donald Trump and the power of the opposing party and not caring how much the people of this country have suffered. That is why there is so much hate.

Christianity has also been under attack. Our Founding Fathers may not have imagined that God and country would be attacked so vehemently by those that simply have so much hate in their hearts. I will be praying for you.

I think this newspaper has done a good job. There are other newspapers and other sources to get more in-depth information on the COVID-19.
