As visitors walk up to the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum, 10801 W. Oakmont Drive, and catch a glimpse of the old metal Christmas tree through the window, they may start to tingle.

Like a child on Christmas morning, the joy of those long lost memories will come alive. Stepping through the front door, it becomes even more magical than some may remember. The multi-colored pinwheel throws off different hues on the tree and those watching feel transported back to those first years of Sun City.

That has is one of museum officials’ goals — that every visitor coming through the museum become immersed in Sun City’s unique history. This Christmas season, museum officials are taking it to another level, and they want all to be part of it. The museum doors will be open and will come alive with a celebration of the holidays 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16.

It’s going to be so much more than just old time decorations. Museum officials are bringing in two long-time favorites from the community — the Poms will be there in full regalia and the Sun City Ukulele club will perform some old time holiday classics. Refreshments will be provided.

Members of the museum are admitted free of charge while non-members will be asked for a $5 donation per person. Memberships start as low as $25 per household per year. Those who have been meaning to join can do it at the door during this event. This is a chance to see all the museum has to offer and have a great time celebrating the holidays with the Poms and the Ukulele Club.
