AAUW food drive collects for Valley View food bank

Members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Northwest Valley branch, held a food drive July 4 for Valley View Community Food Bank in Sun City.
Cash donations and hundreds of pounds of food were received.
The AAUW promotes equity and education for women and girls and provides the opportunity to join a circle of women intent upon breaking through educational and economic barriers to enable women and girls to enjoy success in their community and personal lives.
Membership is open to anyone holding an associates degree, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Call 623-986-0165.
Valley View Community Food Bank, headquartered at 10771 W. Peoria Ave., is now open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for donations only.
Donations can be made at feedingaz.org. To volunteer to help pack boxes or deliver food in the Sun Cities, volunteers can call Martha Ovalle, volunteer coordinator, at 602-486-4285.
