A woman has been extradited from California to Arizona in connection with the death of a man in Mesa.

Laura Lee Nuckoles, 36, faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of tampering with evidence in connection to a homicide May 4 near University Drive and Sossmann Road.

Mesa police had announced Robert Nuckoles was killed at a residence that day. Evidence led police to determine his brother, Ryan Nuckoles, and his sister-in-law, Ms. Nuckoles, were suspects in the case.

Mesa Police spokeswoman Irene Mahoney said the Nuckoles were found May 7 in Redondo Beach, California.

Mesa police detectives traveled to California to work with Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach police to locate and interview the couple and recover evidence.

In addition, authorities found the couple's 13-year-old son and their vehicle.

It does not appear Ryan Nuckoles has been extradited yet.

Laura Nuckoles was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail in lieu of a $1 million bond.

She has an arraignment hearing May 28.
