William E. Jelf, III

William E. Jelf, III of Apache Junction, AZ, passed the heavenly threshold on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was born in Madisonville, Tennessee, on July 11, 1941, to the late William E. Jelf, Jr, and Anna Katherine McPherson Jelf. He was a graduate of John I. Burton High School and Emory & Henry College. He made his home over the years in Tennessee, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut, and Arizona. Bill’s profession was chemist. Throughout his life, he has been a member of the United Methodist Church, for which his father was a pastor, and a member of the Emmaus community. He loved reading, singing bass in choir, bowling, and eating sweets. He volunteered as a fire fighter and soccer coach. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ann Summitt Jelf, his parents, and his siblings, Samuel McPherson Jelf and Trudy Jelf Vernon. He his survived by his daughters, Mary Elizabeth of Colorado and Mollie Katherine of Ohio, grandsons Skye, Shay, Julian, and Jasper Cannell, sister-in-law Sandy Jelf, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local public libraries.
