Meet Your Business: Valley Remodeling specializes in kitchen and bath remodels

Posted

Your Name: Connie Bunyard

Business Name: Valley Remodeling

Town/Neighborhood: Mesa

Hours of operation: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Personal background highlights: My husband, John, and I have been married 40 years and have seven wonderful children together and three beautiful grandchildren. We have lived in Arizona for 25 years and absolutely love it here.

Professional background highlights: Valley Remodeling is family owned and operated with over 40 years in the construction industry. We started out 11 years ago as a handyman company and got our general contractor license a few years back. We rebranded as of Jan. 1 and are now specializing in kitchen and bath remodels. We do still offer lite handyman services but really want to focus on helping to create a new space for you.

What I do: My part at Valley Remodeling is in sales, as well as marketing and office duties.

What I like most about doing business here: I love having the opportunity to go into a home and help to create a completely new space for a homeowner, giving them the space of their dreams through an effortless process.

Changes I’d like to see in this area: With our industry exploding the way it is I think it’s important to have great communication skills, never leaving the homeowner wondering what’s next in the timeline. We pride ourselves in always being upfront and proactive.

What am I promoting: Our expertise in both kitchen and bath remodels.

What I’m excited about and why: I’m excited about the opportunity to work together with homeowners creating their new space for them. Providing homeowners with an A+ experience from start to finish.

Favorite community cause and why: Oh our community is full of so many wonderful causes. A couple of my favorites are House of Refuge for their ability to give people a solid new beginning when they have fallen on hard times with everything from housing to child care, they cover it all. Then United Food Bank whose No. 1 goal is to never let anyone go to bed hungry.

When and why I started my business/employment here: We started our company on Feb. 11, 2011, with a desire to give “handyman” a new meaning, showing that homeowners could trust someone to come into their home and give them a quality experience.

Where was before and why I left: I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom for most of my life before starting our company with my husband. Having seven kids is a big responsibility and John and I always took very seriously the need for one of us to always be available to our children.

My family: My husband John of 40 years and 13 children (including spouses and significant others), two beautiful granddaughters and a grandson due in August.

My interests & hobbies: I love to kayak, hike, garden, enjoying every moment that I have to be in the great outdoors that God has created for us. I also love to play cards, games and learn more about the political world.

People who inspire me (and how): My Heavenly Father, as He has sacrificed so much for me and has blessed me in ways unmeasurable. Also, the countless people that have gone before me and sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

My guiding philosophy: Care more than others think wise. Risk more than others think safe. Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible.

My advice to today’s youth: Save, save, save, even if it is a small amount. It will continue to grow if you leave it alone.
