Sweetwater to open new facility in Glendale, adds to 303 Corridor

Music instrument-based company looks to hire 165 new jobs in August

Sweetwater, the world’s leading music instrument and pro audio gear eCommerce provider, is opening a new facility in Glendale to add to the growing roster of industrial partners on the city’s west side.

The facility marks Sweetwater’s first distribution center outside of its headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The 350,000-square foot building, located at 16801 W. Glendale Avenue, will serve as a fulfillment center for the tens of thousands of products and accessories sold by Sweetwater, including pro audio gear like microphones, speakers, mixers, and amplifiers as well as drums, guitars, and band and orchestra instruments.

“Those who live in the western part of the country often have to wait several days for their orders to arrive from our facility in Indiana. This will change that dramatically,” President & CEO John Hopkins shared in a statement.

Sweetwater will begin hiring to fill as many as 165 positions, including shift supervisors, pickers, packers, and machine operators, in August. The fulfillment center should be operational by October.

The new facility is located in the 303 Logistics industrial warehouse at the southwest corner of the Loop 303 and Glendale Avenue. The building first broke ground in 2020 as part of the Loop 303 corridor, one of the fastest-growing industrial corridors in the nation.

Other corporate neighbors in the Loop 303 corridor include Boeing, Microsoft, White Claw, Red Bull, and Ball Corp., plus hundreds of new residential homes. In March of this year, the city announced that Nestlé is building a $675 million industrial facility in the Loop 303 corridor.

“I’m honored to welcome Sweetwater to our thriving city,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers stated. “Their investment will enable them to create a better customer experience for their clients and will bring more than 100 jobs to the area. They join a growing number of global and national corporations who now call Glendale home.”

Sweetwater was founded in 1979.
