Suspect in custody after robberies in Peoria, Glendale

Police have arrested a man in connection with several robberies in Peoria and Glendale.

Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Peoria police arrested Jose Jesus Siqueros, 38, at a hotel in Phoenix.

Mr. Siqueiros had been identified as a suspect in three robberies that occurred in Peoria and one in Glendale. The robberies occurred between Feb. 29 and March 2.

Once Mr. Siqueiros’ location was obtained, a surveillance operation commenced. When Mr. Siqueiros emerged from the hotel room, he was contacted by Peoria SWAT members and taken into custody without incident.

Mr. Siqueiros was later booked at the 4th Avenue Jail on three counts of robbery and one count of forgery

Investigation into possible additional robberies committed by Mr. Siqueiros is ongoing.

Court documents indicate Mr. Siqueiros is on parole for armed robbery. 

He was jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond and is due in court March 17.

Peoria robberies

Robbery 1: 9:20 p.m. Feb. 29 at Dollar Tree, 9966 N. 91st Ave.

Suspect attempted to pay for female hygiene products then demanded money from the register. Suspect fled with nearly $400.

Robbery 2: 8:55 p.m. March 3 at Dollar Tree, 6750 W. Peoria Ave.

Suspect tried to purchase candy, then forced his way into the cash register to steal money. Suspect fled with about $450.

Robbery 3: 9:30 p.m. March 3 at Subway, 8877 N. 107th Ave.

Suspect paid for a sandwich, exited the restaurant, then came back in saying his girlfriend wanted a sandwich. Suspect then jumped over the counter and stole about $286.
