Sun Health classes available this week

Sun Health Wellness wants to remind everyone it has implemented alternative means of holding many of its regular classes via video conferencing technology at no cost.

Some classes are now being offered in person following guidelines set for businesses by the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

Registration is required for some classes. To see the full schedule of the upcoming classes, go to www.SunHealthWellness.org and click on the banner at the top of the page for the latest information.

Here is a list of upcoming classes:

Dementia Caregiver Support Group: 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 8 at Grandview Terrace Health & Rehabilitation, 14505 W. Granite Valley Drive, Sun City West. This support group is led by Sun Health Wellness’s Memory Care Navigator, Marty Finley. Registration is not required.

Diabetes Self-Management Training: 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 9 at Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing, 14719 W. Grand Ave. Building B, Surprise. This six-week course helps prevent diabetic complications. Class fee is covered by Medicare and most insurance providers and requires a physician referral. Register by calling 623-471-9355.

Meditation and Managing Anxiety: 11 a.m.-noon Friday, July 10. During uncertain times increased anxiety is not uncommon. Take an introductory look at reducing anxiety and gaining a more positive outlook. Join Barbara Mason, Executive Director from Sun Health at Home. This class requires registration and will be held online.

Other classes are available on-demand and accessible online. The classes are pre-recorded and may be watched free of charge at any time.
