Shields: 'Keep up the great work' on the Queen Creek Independent

After 50 years with newspapers as an editor and publisher, I can speak with some knowledge about community newspapers.
Unfortunately, social media and other factors have dramatically impacted important local news coverage throughout the country. Our great town of Queen Creek is no exception.
Fortunately, we have the Queen Creek Independent. You folks do a fantastic job of keeping residents informed. Particularly, I might add, with coverage of actions by the Town Council. Otherwise, we would be left with no news about decisions affecting our community. This coverage is very important to keep us informed.
Plaudits to the Independent and your staff. Keep up the great work. I speak with many residents, and your efforts are much appreciated.
