Sheila, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many passed away February 21, 2020. She was 76. Sheila is survived by her son Guy McDermott (Mary) and her grandchildren Sean McDermott, Erin McDermott and Maggie McDermott. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Nerone and her six siblings Anna Clair Turchek, Sylvia McCarthy, Mary Jane Sash, Howard, Jerry and Raymond McCarthy as well as her parents Irene and Raymond McCarthy.

Sheila was born in Cleveland Ohio, the youngest of seven children. She treasured her childhood with her many siblings and her parents. Through the example of her parents, she lived a life of service. Her professional work was always dedicated to caring for others. She worked in hospitals and care facilities throughout most of her life. Her unyielding dedication drastically improved the lives of those around her. As a single mother, she moved mountains to give a wonderful life to her son. She was blessed to find true love later in life. She and Frank shared many wonderful years together living in Sun City, Arizona. She spent her retirement gardening, sewing, praying and doting on her grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 A.M. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Funeral mass to follow at 11:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church 9728 W. Palmeras Drive, Sun City, AZ.
