Scottsdale hotel welcomes new hires to growing team

Senna House Scottsdale, Curio Collection by Hilton, announced Sept. 15 the addition of two new members to its growing leadership team. Kevin Gilbert accepted the general manager position after acting as interim for the last three months, while Kori Kineshanko has been brought on as director of sales and marketing, according to a press release.

Gilbert spent the last 39 years in the hospitality industry after getting his start as a houseperson at the Hilton Lincoln Center in 1983. There, his mentor encouraged him to grow and work toward becoming a manager and within 10 years, Gilbert was promoted from assistant banquet manager to fine dining manager.

“I’m thrilled to continue my journey with Hilton as a member of the Senna House team,” Gilbert said in the release. “This is my first opportunity to cultivate the true guest experience from the ground up, leading the team at this gorgeous property that is less than a year old.”

Gilbert has held other various roles with Hilton, including director of catering, director of food and beverage, director of operations and rooms director. He has been on the Board of Directors for a variety of different hospitality and hotel organizations, and plans to stay involved in the Scottsdale community. When he is not working, Gilbert enjoys cooking, exploring trails, refereeing high school football and mentoring high school and college students on how to prepare for the professional world.

As a dual citizen in Canada and the United States, Kineshanko started her hospitality career as a corporate travel manager with American Express in 1996. She moved from sales development to director of sales and marketing in 2010 when she moved to Arizona, working with luxury resorts in both Scottsdale and Sedona. Her career then took her to at least eight other cities.

“I am thrilled to return to Scottsdale to join the Senna House team,” Kineshanko said in the release. “The Valley is experiencing a revitalization and I’m excited to see how Senna House fits into the market. I look forward to connecting with other hotels and organizations in the community to keep Scottsdale on the map as a destination for all and make Senna House the go-to hotel for travelers.”

Kineshanko has also received her teaching certification and taught in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at a private college in British Columbia. In her time off, she enjoys cooking, gardening, horseback riding and entertaining guests at her home. She is also a mentor to women in the workforce, as she has a passion for promoting women and giving them opportunities to grow their career in the male-dominated hospitality industry.

“We are excited to add Kevin’s extensive knowledge of management and Kori’s expertise in marketing and sales to our team,” Tyler Kent, developer of Senna House, said in the release. “The two additions to the team will help continue to grow the Senna House into the leading Scottsdale destination for business and leisure travelers and locals alike.”
