Selena tribute kicks off Vista Center season early

General ticket sales for The Vista Center for the Arts in Surprise will open on June 24.

The Vista is at 15660 N. Parkview Place, Surprise, and is operated by the Dysart Unified School District.

Upcoming shows include:

• Los Chicos del 512: The Selena Experience — 2022 has been added to the 2022-23 season at the Vista, and will be the first event of the season, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 26.

The members of Los Chicos del 512 came to together for one reason. That is to bring the magic of Selena to old and new fans worldwide.

Since the group’s inception in 2014, they have been successfully doing just that.

This show is the closest one can get to live a Selena concert. These musicians came together and orchestrated a show that will have the audience back to 1995 within seconds of their first song.

Los Chicos del 512 will bring to you the finest Selena tribute that you can Tickets went on sale June 17.

• Croce Plays Croce is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

“Croce Plays Croce” features a complete set of classics played by A.J. Croce and written by his father Jim Croce, some of his own tunes, and songs that influenced both him and his father.

The show often includes such timeless songs as “Operator,” “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim,” “Workin’ At the Car Wash Blues,” “Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy), “One Less Set of Footsteps,” “Lovers Cross,” and “Box #10,” to name a few.

• West Valley Symphony - Welcome Back Vladmir is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Pianist Vladimir Khomyakov will return to The Vista stage joining the West Valley Symphony performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3.

He was born in Kirovorgad, Ukraine, to a family of professional musicians, both graduates of Odessa Conservatory and started his music studies at the age of four with his mother Olga Donskaya.

Perpetuating the heritage of Russian and American piano schools, he uniquely combines those traditions with the individuality of a sensitive and passionate artist. Concert includes Beethoven’s Leonore Overture and Symphony No 3.

Tickets go on sale June 24.
