Independent Newsmedia
Scottsdale police arrested a man for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at an apartment complex.
Andrele Stefan Williams, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and strangulation of his live-in girlfriend.
Police responded to an apartment complex east of Loop 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 10 about a family fight.
The woman ran from her apartment to the officers, alleging Mr. Williams had tried to kill her, police stated in a release.
Police determined from interviews and evidence at the scene that Mr. Williams physically assaulted and threatened her.
Mr. Williams was arrested without incident.
Police said he has a history of domestic violence offenses and is on parole from the Arizona Department of Corrections.
