Sandra Andree (Webster) Allen

Posted

Sandra Andree (Webster) Allen passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 16, 2022, in Mesa, Arizona, with her youngest son by her side. She was 80 years old.

Sandy was born to Louis H. and Dorotha E. (Kyler) Webster on March 22, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended North Side High School and Purdue University, where she met her future husband Marvin R. Proctor at a dance. They married in 1963 and moved to Aurora, Colorado, for Marv’s first job after college. Sandy found work in medical records at a local hospital and grew to love the Denver-area mountains. In 1966, they moved to Rockford, Illinois, where Marv took a job at Sundstrand Aviation. They had two sons: Cristopher R. Proctor and Keith L. Proctor. Sandy began working at Sundstrand in 1973 in data records and eventually developed a love of airplanes and jets, especially the SR-71 Blackbird and the F-117 Nighthawk.

Sandy married Wayne R. Allen of Rockford in 1980. They rode motorcycles, went to races and concerts, spent cherished time with family and friends, spoiled the grandchildren, traveled to England and Ireland, and loved and supported each other in good times and bad. They vacationed together and once a year apart: Wayne to Sturgis with his friends, and Sandy to see her mother. With her son Keith, she traveled across Europe from France to Hungary and points in between. By the time Sandy retired in 2004, she had become Security Administrator at Sundstrand. After Wayne retired from Sundstrand, they moved to Apache Junction, Arizona, to live at the edge of the beautiful Superstition Mountains. Wayne passed away in 2011. Sandy continued to live in Apache Junction until 2020.

Sandy is survived by her sons Cris (Chris) and Keith, step-daughter Ginger L. Allen, step-grandchildren Mai, William, Sterling, Olivia, and Dalton, and favorite “little guy” Philip, her devoted cat. She is also survived by cousins Jeff and Brenda and their families, and by a brother, sister, and niece. She was predeceased by parents Louis and Dorotha, second husband Wayne, step-daughter Kari, beloved aunt Carolene, and favorite uncle Mac.

Sandy’s family is grateful for her Visiting Angels companions who helped Sandy enjoy life during her last years at home: Dana, Pat, Carol, Delight, Fran, and Ruth. Sandy’s family is also grateful for the love and care given by Trinity, Laynie, Grace, Susan (activities), Michelle (dining), and many others at the Summit at Sunland Springs Memory Care in Mesa; Sage Hospice nurses Rebecca and Celeste; and home health aides Susan and Christy.

Sandy will join her husband Wayne in their final resting place in Rockford, Illinois, at a later date. Family and friends will be notified. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Sandy’s name. Thank you to Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa for taking final care of Sandy.

We will all miss her so very much.
