Rosemary W Lynch

Rosemary Lynch, 93, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021. She leaves behind her son David and his wife Lisa, son John and his wife Barbara and grandchildren Patrick and Jenna Lynch. Born in South Bend Indiana to Lonzo and Emily Walker, she was raised in Indianapolis with her four siblings. She was preceded in death by Robert, Lois, and Bud, and is survived by her youngest sister Joan O’Brien of Indianapolis, IN. She married John (Jack) Lynch in 1950, and was preceded by his passing in 2002. Jack and Rosemary moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1952, then to Glendale in 1959, and then Sun City in 1988. Rosemary was one of the best examples of community service and leadership that the west valley has ever seen. She was active for over 50 years in the Glendale Women’s Club, a founding/life member of the Glendale Historical Society, and over 30 years with The Sun City Prides. In addition to those organizations she was involved with the Glendale Garden Club, PTA, Special Olympics, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, then St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. She also worked for over 20 years as a special ed. teaching assistant at Glendale and Apollo high schools. One of her proudest moments was being presented with Glendale’s Ruth Byrne Historic Preservation Award in 2017. A memorial service for Rosemary is being held at 2pm on June 22, 2021, at Saint Christopher’s Church, 10233 W Peoria Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351 Donations in memory of Rosemary can be made to the Glendale Women’s Club (glendalewomansclub.com) and the Glendale Historical Society (glendalearizonahistoricalsociety.org).
