‘Reverse Light Parade’ Saturday in Apache Junction

Posted

Join Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, Dec. 5, for a new take on the city’s annual free light parade — keeping the holiday spirit and hosting a Reverse Light Parade.

The event will take place 7-8:30 p.m. on North Apache Trail in front of Flatiron Community Park, according to a release.

This will be a drive-through experience for families with all of the floats staged on both sides of the road in the adjacent street parking.

As always, Santa Claus will be in the fire truck waving to all the good girls and boys of the community, the release states.

All traffic will be traveling south on North Apache Trail from Idaho Road. The route will conclude at Apache Trail to view the city’s Christmas tree at the Focal Point. After you exit onto the Trail, you will be able to drive around town to check out all of the decorated businesses that are participating in “The Jingle in the Junction” event hosted by the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce. Maps of the participating businesses will be available prior to Saturday, December 5th.

Individuals, businesses, non-profit agencies and groups are welcome to enter floats. Pre-registration is required in order to participate. For more information on entering a float, e-mail Larry Binion at lbinion@ajcity.net.

For more information on this program or other programs and services, call the Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department at 480-983-2181 or go to www.ajcity.net/holiday.
