Ray Victor Madsen

Ray, son of Victor and Marie Madsen, passed away on November 13th at the age of 87. Ray was born on June 19th 1932 in Trenton, Nebraska where he grew up.

He spent his youth working on farms in the community, and learning the plumbing business from his father before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1952. Ray served in the USAF for 8 years, including overseas duty in Japan, before his discharge in 1960 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. Ray served the USAF for two additional years in a civil service capacity, before taking a computer programming position with General Electric in Phoenix, Arizona.

Before retiring in 1995, Ray worked for General Electric, and later Honeywell, as an industrial automation software quality manager for 33 years.

Ray loved sports (especially Sun Devil and Cornhusker Football), as well as fishing with his wife Bethelene, to whom he was married for 59 years before her passing earlier this year.

Ray is survived by a son, Michael; a daughter, Victoria; and grandsons, Aaron and Glen. He was preceded in death by his wife, and son Marc.
