Posted

The town of Queen Creek offices and Recreation Annex will close on Monday, July 4, in observation of Independence Day.

The closure will not impact any public safety or emergency services. If residents have a water, sewer or streets emergency during the closure they can call 480-358-3131 for assistance.

Trash and recycling services will be affected by the holiday. All trash and recycling services (including bulk trash collection) will be moved back one calendar day. For example, residents in Zone 4 will need to have their trash and recycling carts and bulk trash curbside by 6 a.m. on Friday, July 8. Residents in Zone 1 must request a bulk pick-up online by noon on Thursday, June 30, for a July pick-up. For more information on trash and recycling services, visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/Trash.

Normal business hours for the town are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Friday through Sunday. Regular business hours for the Recreation Annex are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday. The Recreation Annex is located at 21802 S. Ellsworth Road.

Legal fireworks are only permitted within town limits from June 24 through July 6. Legal fireworks include ground displays and sparkling devices. Any devices that rise into the air and explode/detonate or fly above the ground are illegal.

All fireworks can cause serious burns and injuries. Additionally, the area is very dry and susceptible to fire this season. For more information on firework safety, including safe disposal tips, visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/Fireworks.
