Phoenix police involved in shooting with suspect in Buckeye

Police said a man carjacked a ride hailing vehicle in Phoenix and headed to Buckeye where he engaged in a shooting with officers.
The incident started before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near 43rd and Orangewood avenues in Phoenix. Police said a 32-year-old man kicked out the driver of a ride hailing vehicle and stole it at gunpoint.
An air unit followed the vehicle to the area of Broadway and Watson roads in Buckeye, where patrol vehicles trapped the suspect on all sides.
Police said the suspect started shooting at officers, who returned fire, striking the man.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.
No officers were injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
