Phoenix police identify 14-year-old boy killed in shooting

Police have identified a teenager shot and killed Saturday night in Phoenix.

Christian Villareal, 14, was shot Saturday and put in the backseat of a car who’s driver flagged down an ambulance driving on Loop 101 near 59th Avenue. Christian was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police the shooting occurred at 3100 W. Thunderbird.  Phoenix police officers responded and secured scene. Details of how the shooting occurred haven’t been disclosed. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
