Peoria man arrested in triple stabbing in Avondale

Two of three people were seriously injured after they were stabbed in Avondale on Thanksgiving.

A Peoria man was arrested in connection with the Thursday night incident.

Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Avondale police responded to an unwanted guest and stabbing call near 117th Avenue and Apache Street, southwest of Avondale Boulevard and Buckeye Road.

Police found a man and two women had been stabbed by a man later identified as Brandon Michael Darr Robinson, 33.

The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police later located and arrested Mr. Robinson two blocks from the victims’ residence.

Court documents indicate that two of the victims had met Mr. Robinson at a bar two days before Thanksgiving. Mr. Robinson reportedly told them he had no family to visit for the holiday. So the victims invited him to their residence.

However, after about 15 minutes of being there, Mr. Robinson began to act crazy, grabbed a kitchen knife, and allegedly stabbed the three victims. He then fled the residence.

Officers noted a deep laceration to Mr. Robinson’s hand during his arrest.

Mr. Robinson was jailed in lieu of a $400,000 bond on three counts of aggravated assault.

Court documents state the male victim needed emergency surgery due to collapsed lungs. A female victim needed surgery for stab wounds to the chest and neck. A second female victim denied treatment and cooperated with police.
