Peoria Little League team continues World Series dream

Sidewinder squad heads to regionals

A Little League baseball team from North Peoria is on its way to San Bernardino, California, later this week, with a chance to earn a spot in the 2022 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.

The Sidewinder Little League baseball team (ages 11-12) will represent Arizona in the West Region tournament Aug. 6-12.

Sidewinder was 9-0 in the Arizona Little League state championship to earn the regional berth. In the championship game on July 23, Sidewinder beat Tucson Sunnyside, 7-0. 

Sidewinder starts regional play against Tri-City LL, the Northern California Little League representative. Teams from Southern California and Hawaii make up the remainder of the double-elimination tournament.  

The winner of the West Region will head to the Little League World Series tournament Aug. 17-28. 

The Sidewinder players are:
