One lucky guest at Desert Diamond Casino West Valley is having a very happy holiday season, hitting a $1,038,429 million progressive jackpot on Friday.

The guest, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was playing the Gold Crown machine from AGS. The million-dollar jackpot was hit on a one-credit bet.

Desert Diamond Casino West Valley, located at 91st and Northern avenues near Glendale, celebrated its fourth anniversary in the Valley on Friday.

A major new expansion with a larger gaming floor featuring the latest slots, poker, blackjack, bingo, five new dining venues and more will open Feb. 19, 2020. A hiring campaign for the opening is underway; applications can be submitted at www.ddcaz.com/careers.

Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment is operated by the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, an enterprise of the Tohono O’odham Nation. The interim casino near Glendale currently employs more than 600 people, and the full-scale facility will become one of the West Valley’s largest employers with over 2,000 team members.

When it opens in February, the new casino will complement the region’s vibrant sports and entertainment attractions, including Glendale’s Westgate Entertainment District and Peoria’s P83 Entertainment District.
