Suspect arrested in deadly shooting in north Glendale neighborhood

Posted

Glendale police have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting.

Michael "Bubba" William Ingram, 36, is accused of shooting and killing Michael Cameron Lee, 30, on Friday morning near 67th Avenue and Utopia Road.

Officers had responded to reports of a shooting and found a man outside of a residence. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said other people inside the residence were not harmed.

Witnesses inside the residence told police that the shooter, identified as Mr. Ingram, was known to them and had come over uninvited.

According to court documents, Mr. Lee and Mr. Ingram engaged in a physical altercation, leading to the outside of the residence. Once outside,  Mr. Ingram allegedly shot Mr. Lee with a handgun and then fled the scene in his vehicle.

According to court documents, two female witnesses inside the home only knew the suspect by the name of Bubba, and that he drove a silver-colored Dodge Durango. One of the witnesses provided police with the suspect's last known address, near 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. That information led police to identify Mr. Ingram as a suspect.

Later in the day on Friday, police located the suspect vehicle near 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road in Peoria. However, police said the suspect was not at the location.

Police put a tracker on the vehicle, which remained at the Peoria location until Tuesday morning. Police tracked it to the Phoenix residence of Mr. Ingram, who was arrested there without incident.

Mr. Ingram was booked into jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond and faces charges of second-degree murder and drug possession. He is due in court Oct. 22 and 25.

Prior run ins with the law for Mr. Ingram include pleading guilty to multiple charges of burglary, robbery and theft in 2017, according to the Maricopa County Superior Court.

He was released from prison in May, according to Arizona Department of Corrections records.

Anyone with information on the case can call 623-930-3000 or 480-948-6377. If an emergency, call 911.
