New weekly coronavirus cases appear to be on the rise in Goodyear

Posted

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported the number of new weekly coronavirus cases in Goodyear’s 85338 and 85395 ZIP codes was 118 over the week ending Friday, April 9, bringing the combined tally of cases in Goodyear to 11,270.

That’s 100 more new weekly cases than reported by ADHS the week ending April 2.

Public health officials attributed a dramatic jump in new cases statewide to the addition of months-old cases not previously documented as virus-related.

However, those cases were in Gila, Graham and Navajo counties, they said.
