Lauryn A. Baehr of Mesa graduated with a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, at Morningside College.

Baehr was with 183 undergraduate students who graduated in spring 2021. The undergraduate Class of 2021 marks the final class graduating from Morningside College before the institution officially became Morningside University on June 1.

Morningside awards general honors based on undergraduate work completed at the college and according to the grade point averages. General honors noted are based upon GPAs as of the end of the fall 2020 semester and are designated as follows:

  • Cum laude (with honor) at 3.50
  • Magna cum laude (with great honor) at 3.66
  • Summa cum laude (with highest honor) at 3.81.

Morningside University is a private four-year liberal arts college with a 68-acre campus in Sioux City, Iowa. Morningside’s educational programming is designed to meet the needs of undergraduate, post-undergraduate and graduate students with more than 65 majors and pre-professional programs, online graduate programs in education and nursing, and an online bachelor’s degree completion program.

Baehr was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year. The dean's list recognizes Morningside students who achieve a 3.67-grade point average or better and complete at least 12 credits of coursework with no grade below a "C-."
