Meet Kasumy – Teen Eager to Experience Life with a Family

Posted

When asked, thirteen-year-old Kasumy describes herself as quiet, happy, and open to trying new things.

When Kasumy was younger, she was interested in all things hair, makeup, and chocolate ice cream. These days, the teen is interested in creative outlets like beading and painting, as well as gardening and cooking.

Kasumy says her perfect weekend would consist of a trip to the zoo with her friends, eating at Peter Piper Pizza, and baking banana bread. She hopes to find a family that will want to do these activities and try new things with her.

The perfect family for Kasumy would be experienced in trauma based parenting. The teen thrives when she receives attention, so a family with older or no children would be preferred. Kasumy currently visits her biological siblings and would like to continue that relationship after adoption. She also hopes to find a family that could teach her Spanish.

For more information on children in foster care eligible for adoption, call Aid to Adoption of Special Kids at 602.930.4900, or visit www.aask-az.org.

Editor's note: Ms. Gaieck is a copywriter at AASK - Aid to Adoption of Special Kids. She will be submitting articles regularly to the Daily Independent at YourValley.net in hopes to find children forever families.
