Maricopa County accepting applications for remainder of official's term
Posted
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is now accepting applications for the position of County Assessor.
The Board officially accepted the resignation of Paul Petersen on Jan. 8 and determined the following process to fill the vacancy.
Applications are being accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27.
Applicants should submit:
Letter of interest
Resume
Answers to questionnaire
Maximum of three letters of recommendation (optional)
Applicants should send these documents to the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 301 W. Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003 or email it to ClerkBoard@maricopa.gov. All documents filed with the Clerk’s Office will become public records and may be posted online. Applicants are subject to a background check.
The Board may choose to interview applicants before making a decision.
State law assigns the Board of Supervisors responsibility for appointing a new county assessor in the case of a vacancy. The process for making that appointment is not defined by state law.
The applicant must be a Maricopa County resident over the age of 18 and a registered Republican per ARS 16-230. Those interested in applying may download and complete the required questionnaire, which is also available here.
The person selected will fill the remainder of the current term which ends Dec. 31, 2020.
