Man found dead in Surprise home

Police investigating fatal shooting

Surprise Police are investigating a death that occurred at a residence in the area of 13400 W. Redfield Road.

At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, the Surprise Police Department received a 911 call from a woman who stated her husband had been shot.

Officers arrived at the residence, and observed inside a man who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Immediate medical treatment was administered. However, the man was pronounced dead. Police did not release the identity of the man.

Police say all involved parties have been accounted for, and they are cooperating with detectives

"Based on what we know so far, this was not a random act of violence, and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time," Police spokesman Tommy Hale said.
