A man is accused of shooting into the vehicle of his ex-wife, injuring his son, while chasing them in Scottsdale.

Around 5:30 p.m. Monday, Scottsdale police responded to a shooting call near Granite Reef and Chaparral roads. According to police, a woman said she was being chased by her ex-husband while they drove in separate vehicles.

The woman was driving with her 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter, records state. At the intersection, police said the woman’s ex-husband fired multiple gunshots at her vehicle.

The suspect continued to follow the victim’s vehicle to the intersection of Hayden and Chaparral roads, where the suspect allegedly rammed his SUV into the back of the victim’s vehicle, records state.

The victims tried to get away again, and after some time the suspect fled from their sight.

Police later found the suspect’s SUV parked at a residence. However, the suspect was not there. Police then tracked his cell phone and learned he was with his girlfriend at her Scottsdale residence. Police set up surveillance and found him entering the vehicle of an attorney, records state.

At 9:30 p.m., police said they arrested Jason Robert Moore, 42, without incident during a traffic stop near 8500 E. Indian School Road by members of the SWAT team.

He was jailed in lieu of $750,000 bond and faces multiple counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and endangerment.

Police said the teenage boy was the only one who sustained gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for treatment for a bullet wound to the leg, records state.

The investigation remains ongoing.
