Lewis: Medicare programs must stay for Arizonans

Posted

While I was working, I helped Arizonans select the right healthcare plan for them. Now that I’ve retired, I volunteer my time to assist Arizona seniors in navigating their health insurance options.

When it came to my own care, Medicare Advantage was the right choice.

My Medicare Advantage plan connects me with traditional benefits like prescription drug coverage, as well as integrated vision, hearing, and dental benefits, transportation to care appointments, access to wellness programs, and companion care resources.

As seniors took extra precautions to protect ourselves during the pandemic, Medicare Advantage adapted to offer prescription drug and grocery deliveries, plus telehealth appointments.

As our elected representatives in Washington, D.C., debate federal spending plans, I hope they do everything possible to protect Medicare Advantage on behalf of the over 580,000 Arizonans who depend on this vital program. Arizona seniors like me.
