Legacy Traditional Schools set to open online academy

Option would debut in fall 2021

Legacy Traditional Schools is going online with the launch of Legacy Online Academy, a public, tuition-free online education option.

The new online platform will make available to every Arizona student the same education that Legacy Traditional families receive. Legacy Online Academy opens to K-8 students in Fall 2021.

“While COVID-19 has upended nearly every facet of public education over the past year, it has also given schools like Legacy an opportunity to adapt and innovate the way we deliver education in a pandemic era,” said Superintendent Nicole Kirkley. “For Arizona families who want a distance-learning option, we are proud Legacy Online Academy will offer students an outstanding education in a setting where they feel safe, supported and challenged.”

Every student enrolled in Legacy Online Academy will be assigned his/her own dedicated online teacher in a virtual classroom environment. The online model will focus on ensuring students master the foundations of education – reading, writing and math – while learning at an accelerated pace.

Founded in 2007, Chandler-based Legacy Traditional Schools has an “A” grade from the Arizona Department of Education and is recognized as the highest rated K-8 school network in the state.

Arizona is home to 19 Legacy campuses, including three new campuses coming to Mesa, Deer Valley and East Tucson in the fall.

Families interested in learning more about Legacy Online Academy are encouraged to attend the first Virtual Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. To RSVP for the event or for more information about Legacy Online Academy, visit https://legacytraditional.org/you-can-enroll-in-legacy-online-academy-today-az/.
