Kvaran: New school genocide curriculum law hypocritical

Posted

After reading, and then rereading your July 31 article, “Scottsdale schools add new antisemitic awareness class to curriculum,” I learned that Arizona law House Bill 2241 stipulates that all students must study about the Holocaust and other genocides.

And I thought how strange it is that we are required to teach our children about the terrible things a bunch of Europeans did to another bunch of Europeans, but when we try to teach some horrible things Americans have done to other Americans (which is what Critical Race Theory is about) suddenly it is a communist plot.

Then I find (elsewhere) “Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced Friday that he signed a bill blocking state-run schools and government entities from requiring training in critical race theory.”

So, we are required to talk about what the Germans and some of their allies did to the Jews, Gypsies, etc., or what the Turks did to the Armenians, but it is verboten to talk about what we did, and in some cases are still doing, to other Americans.

Very interesting, but what does it mean?
