Volunteers who want to keep Tempe beautiful can join a cleanup crew Saturday, June 25, at Tempe Town Lake.

Keep Tempe Beautiful will be participating in the project along with  Planet A Challenge and the Valors Veterans Community.

There are two shifts, 7-8 a.m. and 8-9 a.m.

Volunteers will meet on the north side of the lake in the area next to the Mill Avenue Bridge. Organizers advise helpers to enter through East Curry/Washington and bring water, sunscreen, hats and gloves.

For more information, visit keeptempebeautiful.org.

On June 18, 67 volunteers gave 96 hours of their time with Keep Tempe Beautifuly to clean up Kiwanis Park.

They removed 56.5 pounds of trash, 5 pounds of recyclables and 2 pounds of cigarette butts.

Organizers of the event thank participants from Desert Financial Credit Union, Amazon and DHL.
