Jerry David O'Neil was born April 12, 1939 and died May 26, 2021 after diagnosis of bone cancer five days prior in Gilbert, Az. Jerry was born in Salida, Co., lived in Buena Vista, Co., and went to high school in Winslow, Az. Jerry left school after football season his senior year to enlist in the Navy. He hitchhiked with his best friend LeRoy Urban to Phoenix where Jerry joined the Navy and LeRoy joined the Marines. Jerry served on the Hamner, the Porterfield and the Preston Destroyers in Vietnam, met the love of his life Rebecca Ann McCauley from Buckeye, Az and married Sept 18, 1961. They had two daughters and later Jerry went to work for Thompson Ind. where he was Plant Mgr. After retirement Jerry bought the 7-11 in Chandler then worked for Chandler School Dist. as a bus driver. Jerry is survived by Becky, his daughters, Cyndi Blair and Gerrianne O'Neil both of Queen Creek, his sister Marinelle McClelland of Langley, Ok., brother John O'Neil of Denver, four grandchildren, Hayden Edgmon, Aaron Blair, Zach Blair, Alexandra Wheeler and numerous nieces and nephews.
