Italian Association of Arizona will present its first Italian Pizza & Wine Festival from 12 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Scottsdale City Hall.

Delivering authentic pizzas with imported Italian wines, imported beer and non-stop entertainment for the whole family, according to a press release the event is designed to celebrate popular Italian culture in Arizona.

All proceeds benefit the Italian Association of Arizona, promoting Italian culture and the mission to develop an Italian Cultural Center in metro Phoenix.

The Pizza & Wine Festival is a preview event to the Seventh Annual Italian Festival of Arizona, which is scheduled for Feb. 27-28, 2022 in downtown Phoenix at Heritage Square. The two-day festival in March 2019 was postponed due to COVID-19, and got rescheduled for February, the release said.

“We want to give families an opportunity to come out this Fall, and simply have fun for a day outside, and eat what might be Italy’s most popular food, pizza,” said Francesco Guzzo, executive director of the Italian Association of Arizona, in the release.

“And anything worth celebrating in Italy comes with fantastic wines, and beer - Peroni! Add the excellent Italian and Italian-American musical entertainment, some roving acts for the kids, and it lends the perfect excuse to come out and support our fabulous Italian pizza makers.”

A special guest from Italy, Pietro Borroni, president of Stefano Farina Group, “one of Italy’s largest and prestigious wine suppliers,” according to the release, will be present with some of his award-winning wines.

In addition to authentic pizza, guests can enjoy handcrafted Italian sandwiches and authentic Italian food artisans; plus a collection of fine Italian wines and more will be featured.

From musical entertainment to displays of authentic Italian vehicles, there will also be balloon artists, face painters, stilt walkers and street musicians among other entertainment.

Open to the public, the event will be held Scottsdale City Hall parking and grass areas between 75th Street and Drinkwater Boulevard, south of Indian School. Entry is on the southeast corner on 75th Street behind Scottsdale City Hall.

The cost is $10 online in advance only; $15 day of event; children 12 and under are free; 20% discount to Italian Association Members.
