An officer was taken to a hospital following a crash in Glendale.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near 75th and Glendale avenues.

Police said officers were responding to a call for service at a nearby gas station regarding a person with a gun. According to initial information, a fight had broken out between two people.

However, police said one of the involved parties fled in a vehicle and collided with a patrol vehicle that was responding to the call.

Both the male suspect and the officer were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions are unknown, police said.

Glendale Avenue was shut down from 75th to 71st avenues into the afternoon commute.
