Glendale Fire captain retires, takes on new role in Tolleson

Glendale Fire Department captain Michael Young retired from GFD to become battalion chief with the Tolleson Fire Department.

Mr. Young joined the Glendale Fire Department in May of 2007 after eight years with the Phoenix Fire Department. While serving with Glendale he held many titles, including incident safety officer, public information officer, and in May 2015 he was promoted to captain.

His last day riding on a yellow fire truck was Sept. 23.

Mr. Young has three children, two sons and a daughter.
