A City Council vote Tuesday would green-light a new subdivision with 80 residential homes in Glendale.
At its 5:30 p.m. meeting Tuesday, May 24, the Council will face final plat approval for the Marlowe, a subdivision located south of Peoria Avenue and east of 51st Avenue, on more than 18 acres. The proposal, originally called Sarival Farms, goes back some five years but was never constructed due to market demands in 2018, and remained undeveloped until recently.
Landsea Homes Corporation, a publicly traded residential homebuilder, announced this past August that it had closed on 80 homesites for the new community.
“The West Valley is a very important region for us in the Phoenix metro area, and we’re excited about adding Marlowe to our growing list of new home communities,” Kaylee Smith, Arizona Division President for Landsea Homes, stated in a news release at the time.
The area is currently undeveloped ranch land, and is located adjacent to the existing Santa Maria and Greenbriar communities.
Washington Elementary School District will provide elementary public education to the Marlowe, and Glendale Union #205 is the high school district serving the area.
Tuesday’s meeting takes place inside Council Chambers at 5850 W. Glendale Ave.
