George Strait bringing his stadium tour to Glendale

Glendale will be the first stop for next year’s mini tour headlined by country music icon George Strait, who will be joined by Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town.

There will be only six shows total, and Monday morning’s announcement includes news that State Farm Stadium in Glendale will be the opening stop, with a 6 p.m. show on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

“It just felt right,” Strait told Billboard of the mini-tour. “I had the opportunity to work with Chris and Little Big Town and everything just kind of fell in place for next year. I don’t do that many shows anymore, so if we can do a stadium where we can play for more people, that works for me.”

The “King of Country Music,” who will turn 71 a couple weeks after the Glendale show, has sold more than 120 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

The tour also will include stops in Milwaukee, Seattle, Denver and Nashville before ending in Tampa next August.

Tickets will be available through an American Express pre-sale Wednesday, Oct. 26 and start at $59. The general public on-sale begins Friday, Nov. 4.
