Gates: Vaccinations ongoing; we must continue prevention efforts

March was another milestone month with nearly 1.2 million Maricopa County residents receiving at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
That is one third of all county adult residents! But there is still more work to be done toward curtailing the virus.
With more people becoming eligible for vaccination and lower COVID-19 case numbers, it can feel tempting to go back to our behaviors pre-COVID.
However, we must continue to take preventative measures to avoid another spike in cases, such as regularly washing hands, avoiding large crowds, wearing masks and social distancing in public, and getting vaccinated when you can.
