Foster president-elect of national certification board

Posted

Charles “Wes” Foster, Mesa Community College nursing faculty, is president-elect of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board's board of directors.

Mr. Foster has been on the MSNCB board since 2016, serving on the item writers and test development committees for the certified medical-surgical registered nurse exam in 2007, subsequently becoming chair of both committees, according to a release.

He has a long family history with nursing. Both his step-grandmother and godmother were nurses, and his mother was a home health nursing assistant. He was able to visit his step-grandmother at work or go with his mother on some of her home health visits.

“Nurses need support now more than ever,” Mr. Foster said in the release. “I embrace this opportunity to support nurses in their education and certification endeavors.”

Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board

The purpose of MSNCB is to develop, administer, encourage excellence and confidence, and evaluate certification programs for registered nurses in areas of specialty practice to obtain the certified medical-surgical registered nurse certification exam.
