The prints from Glendale Community College’s printmaking program and the carved wood sculptures by Matthew Werner require planning, precision and technical skill.
The GCC printmakers include instructor Donna Atwood, and Anita Oas, Erin Shaeffer, Josh Ewbank, Ken Reed, Kimberley Boege and Leanne Kamben. Their exhibit is titled “Editions,” a printmaking term that refers to several prints struck from one plate. A limited edition refers to a fixed number of prints in a run, signed and numbered by the artist.
This exhibition is primarily comprised of editioned work of linocuts and screen prints, and runs from Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 23 at the Olney Gallery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt St., Phoenix.
A reception for printmaking and carving goes from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at the Olney Gallery.
