Dysart district updates open enrollment

Arizona state law allows students to apply for admission to any state public school, based on available classroom space.

Open Enrollment applications are approved on a year-by-year basis with no guarantee of continued enrollment.

While most campuses in the Dysart Unified School District will have space for Open Enrollment students, some campuses will have closed enrollment because of growth.

Students are expected to demonstrate successful academic, attendance and behavior standing. Open enrollment remains available at most schools in the district until the 2022-23 year starts.

Here were the availability at each district campus as of April 28:

• K-8 schools
Limited availability — Asante Preparatory Academy, Canyon Ridge School, Freedom Traditional Academy, Kingswood Elementary School, Luke Elementary School, Marley Park Elementary School, Marley Park Cambridge Academy (grades 6-8), Mountain View School, Riverview School, Sunset Hills Elementary School, Surprise Elementary School and Thompson Ranch Elementary School.
Fully open — West Point Elementary School.

• K-4 elementary schools
Limited availability — Countryside Elementary School
Fully open — El Mirage Elementary School, Rancho Gabriela Elementary School and

• 5-8 middle schools
Limited availability — Cimarron Springs Middle School
Fully open — Ashton Ranch Middle School, Dysart Middle School and Sonoran Heights Middle School and Western Peaks Elementary School

All four district high schools — Dysart, Shadow Ridge, Valley Vista and Willow Canyon — are open for general enrollment. The structured teaching program is has limited enrollment at Shadow Ridge and is closed everywhere else. Other special programs, the PBS program at Dysart High and ASPIRE program at Shadow Ridge, have limited availability.
