Thousands of American-made custom GM trucks and cars will roll into the 12th annual Dino’s Git-Down this Veterans Day Weekend at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The Git-Down is the largest GM truck show in the country and was an inspiration for a GM custom truck movement that has spread across the U.S., including a growth in truck shows such as C10s in the Park in Texas and the C10 Fall Revival in North Carolina.
“We’ve built something special,” Dino Battilana, event founder and organizer, shared in a news releasse. “There has been a 50% increase in the custom truck market over the last few years including parts inventory, manufacturing and apparel. And, there’s been a rise in value for trucks, which are now the number 1 category sold at auctions like Barrett-Jackson, selling for up to $200,000.”
The free two-day event goes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. State Farm Stadium is located at 1 Cardinals Drive.
The Git-Down will feature custom Chevy and GMC trucks and cars frosm all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico. There will be 2,500 Chevy trucks on display Friday. On Saturday look for 2,500 custom General Motors cars and trucks.
More than 25,000 people attended the two-day event last year.
He has added a cruising lane, designated tailgate location and top 100 trucks area, which will include several trucks to be auctioned at the Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson event in January. There will even be a wedding, as two long-time Git-Down fans exchange vows at 11:11 a.m., Nov. 11.
There will be a vendor expo with 144 auto related booths specializing in Chevrolet/GM products.
“The event is completely free to the public and there are no truck entry fees, so owners can display their vehicles at no cost,” Battilana shared. “The vehicles are all custom or vintage. These are vehicles you don’t see every day, the caliber is exceptional.”
