Charlotte Lape Byrne October 16, 1920-January 7, 2021

Posted
Charlotte and her identical twin Marcia were born on October 16, 1920 in Evanston, Illinois to William Edward Lape and Verna Love Lape. Charlotte weighed just under 3 pounds at birth and Marcia just over 3 pounds. To know that they survived in spite of no incubators is only diminished by the fact that their healthy lifespan has been so long. What the twins lacked in size was made up for by their joie de vivre. Charlotte met Donald Byrne on a blind date arranged by a fraternity brother of Don's. The couple married in 1942 while Don was in the Army Air Corp in Waco, Texas. They raised their children, Dian and Steve in Evanston and in Prairie Village, KS. During her forty plus years with JC Nichols in Kansas City and Ken Meade Realty in the Sun Cities, Charlotte was known to many as their favorite Realtor. Don passed away in 2013. Charlotte is pre-deceased by her sister Barbara VanCleef and survived by her sister Marcia Freeman, daughter Dian Berg, son Stephen Byrne, grandsons Don Berg and Chris Berg, great grand children Gwen, Owen and Theo, nieces and nephews. The family has no plans, at this time, for a memorial service. Charlotte's remains will be interred with Don's at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
