Carolyn Alice Hatch Bellerive 10-4-1926 to 8-28-2022 Carolyn passed away on Sunday August 28, 2022 in the company of her St. Christopher’s pastor. She was 95 years old and ready to join her husband and family for a reunion party in God’s great presence. Carolyn was born in Des Moines, Iowa as the oldest daughter of Fay and Eva (Young) Hatch. She attended the University of Iowas in Northern Iowa and was a constant fan of their football team. She married Edward George Bellerive on May 31, 1952 and moved to Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Geneva, Ill. before their first son was born. All three of her children were born in Geneva. While the children were young Carolyn dedicated her life to their care and her household. The household moved to Edina, MN in 1974. Ed & Carolyn were ‘snowbirds’ after that move, spending summers in MN and winters in Sun City, AZ. Carolyn was inducted into her mother’s Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) chapter when she was 18 years old. She was very involved in all of her P.E.O. chapters and served many times as an officer including President. She represented her chapters at the State Convention. Carolyn was a third generation P.E.O. with her grandmother and mother having served before her. ‘Mrs. B’ as she was know to the children of the churches she attended, was excited to share the word of Jesus Christ with 40 years of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School attendees. Her favorite times were in the company of those children as they heard the story of Christ’s birth and the real reason for Christmas. Carolyn was ‘Mom’ to many of the friends and family members that were blessed to be a part of her life. She is survived by her three children (Mark Edward Bellerive, John Christopher Bellerive & Annette Elizabeth Lasserud), six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held in November at St. Christopher’s in Sun City, AZ. After the memorial, Carolyn will be interred at Fort Snelling in MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to P.E.O. Chapter CT, 10901 W. Roundelay Circle, Sun City, AZ 85351, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 10233 W. Peoria Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351 or St. Albans Episcopal Church, Edina, MN.
