The Bridlewood and Granite Run communities are on track for road improvements.
Peoria City Council approved a job order in the amount of just under $2 million.
Based on the city's Pavement Management Program and goal to provide superior levels of public service, the Public Works Department, Streets Division has completed an evaluation and determined that roadways within the Bridlewood and Granite Run communities are a priority for an asphalt mill (removal) of distressed surface layer/s and an overlay (replacement) with new asphalt, according to a staff report.
In fiscal year 2021, the city council received a presentation by the Peoria Public Works Department, Streets Division, on the results of a technical survey of all the city’s streets. Known as the Pavement Management Program, this information was used to rate the conditions of each section of street to more effectively prioritize needed treatment schedules, based on operational goals and objectives.
In addition to receiving information on pavement management fundamentals, the council provided direction on pavement management goals, performance measures, and the strategies that factor into a successful program of lifecycle maintenance.
