Barwick: President Trump may exaggerate his accomplishments but he gets results

Posted

My mom always told me not to hate anyone and she would scold me severely when I used the word “hate.” I never understood why until recently.

Hate destroys the thinking process. It is so destructive that we cannot be rational. Sound judgment vanishes when we hate. We will not act in our best interest when we are consumed by hate. Hate is a license to do things we wouldn’t normally do. Enter Donald Trump.

I don’t like our president. President Trump is arrogant, egotistical, rude, narcissistic and says some hurtful things. He doesn’t know when to shut up. He frustrates the hell out of me. He makes it easy to hate him but he did something that keeps me from going there. He is doing exactly what he said he would do when he ran for president. He is real.

President Trump upset the entire system. He may exaggerate his accomplishments but he gets results. He is setting a standard that scares the hell out of other politicians. They recoil in fear when they think they may have to tell their constituents the truth. So what do they do?

They convince their constituents that Trump is a racist, homophobic idiot and hates little kids, seniors, women, Blacks, Hispanics, Jews and is responsible for everything bad including COVID-19. The sad thing is that it appears that a majority of American voters believe this nonsense.

The hate for Trump is so strong that it has caused many voters to prefer Joe Biden over Trump. They would rather elect someone who doesn’t know what state he’s campaigning in over a very smart and alert President Trump. If elected Biden will not govern this country, his “handlers” will. If you’re voting for Biden your hate has consumed you and, like Biden, you have no idea where you are. But unlike Biden you can change. You can stop hating and start thinking.
